The political landscape is buzzing with speculation regarding the potential entry of Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, into politics. This follows announcements regarding a public event titled ‘Nishant Samvad’ scheduled for Sunday evening. Posters promoting the event were seen near the JDU headquarters, the party of the longest-serving Chief Minister.
Nishant Kumar has previously alluded to his support for his father’s continued tenure as Chief Minister, though he has been reluctant to comment on his own political future. The posters suggest that Nishant will discuss the “welfare schemes initiated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.” Interestingly, prominent young leaders from opposing parties, including Tejashwi Yadav and Chirag Paswan, have expressed a willingness to welcome Nishant’s political involvement should he choose to pursue it.
Despite this, some political analysts are questioning whether Nitish Kumar, who has distanced himself from dynastic politics, would allow his son into public life unless the Chief Minister himself steps down.
