Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren commemorated World Tribal Day by reflecting on his late father, Shibu Soren, and vowing to continue his legacy. He honored the contributions of all the valiant ancestors of the tribal community.
In a post on the social media platform X, Chief Minister Soren stated that today is World Tribal Day. He reflected on the absence of his guide, guru, and Baba, emphasizing that their struggles, ideas, and ideals will always be a source of inspiration. He highlighted that his father was not only a parent but also the embodiment of the soul of Jharkhand, a symbol of resilience, and a staunch defender of water, forests, and land.
Soren emphasized that the tribal community has illuminated the path for humanity to lead fulfilling lives by fostering harmony with nature. He noted that the tribal way of life both originates and concludes with nature, yet for centuries, tribal and marginalized communities have been relegated to the periphery. He noted that his father had dedicated his life to transforming this reality.
He wrote about how World Tribal Day events held across the state were a source of great fondness for his father. These events served as a platform to unite the rich civilization and culture of the tribal society. This occasion provided an opportunity to showcase tribal talent on a global stage.
Chief Minister Soren concluded by stating that the entire world is celebrating World Tribal Day. He paid tribute to Baba Dishom Guru and all the brave ancestors who, through their struggles and sacrifices, safeguarded the identity, culture, civilization, and rights of the tribal people. On this day, he saluted his ancestors and pledged to elevate the torch of tribal identity in Jharkhand and the nation. He concluded with the rallying cries of “Jai Johar, Jai Adivasiyat, Jai Jharkhand.”
Chief Minister Soren also added that a strong village forms the foundation of a robust state and a thriving country.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in accordance with local customs, also participated in traditional rituals with his family on the fifth day of the traditional Shradh Karma of his father, the late Shibu Soren.
