The state of Arunachal Pradesh is set to establish the nation’s first privately-owned 2G ethanol plant, with Minister Ojing Tasing confirming the use of bamboo as a renewable source for fuel production. This decision is a part of the state’s larger strategy to embrace clean energy solutions. The Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ojing Tasing, made the announcement via social media after participating in a video conference on ‘Arunachal Pradesh Leading in Sustainable Bio-Industrial Development.’ Tasing characterized the project as a groundbreaking move to create a green future for the state. He noted that this project is a key indicator of Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to India’s clean energy transition. Furthermore, the selection of bamboo as a feedstock aligns with the state’s commitment to utilize its natural resources effectively. The minister also mentioned that the ethanol plant would promote eco-friendly industrialization and generate new economic possibilities for the local population.
