The ongoing conflict in Gaza has seen widespread condemnation of Israel’s actions, coupled with a worsening humanitarian situation. Despite public statements, Egypt has entered into a substantial gas import deal with Israel, raising eyebrows internationally. The $35 billion agreement involves the import of Israeli gas, drawing sharp criticism from various quarters.
The deal, regarded as the largest export deal in Israeli history, will see a significant increase in gas imports from Israel’s Leviathan gas fields. Critics have pointed out that the gas being imported by Egypt is, in fact, gas that belongs to Gaza.
