As Bihar gears up for the upcoming assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav has revealed his plans for the women of the state, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Through a post on X, he extended Raksha Bandhan wishes and detailed a ‘return gift’ for the women. He emphasized his commitment to the welfare of women and sought their support in the forthcoming elections. Yadav’s proposed initiatives cover various aspects, from financial aid to infrastructural development. The plans include the ‘BETI’ program for girls, a monthly financial assistance scheme, increased pensions for widows, elderly, and disabled individuals, subsidized gas cylinders, free electricity, and educational opportunities for girls. Furthermore, he pledged to address critical issues such as job creation, exam fee waivers, and free transportation to examination centers, while vowing to prevent paper leaks. He criticized the previous governments and promised to recover funds allegedly misused by them to provide financial assistance to the women. This ‘return gift’ is seen as a strategic move to garner support from women voters in the upcoming elections.
