The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) is conducting raids on DSP Sanjeev Kumar’s properties in Bihar as part of an anti-corruption campaign. The investigation focuses on allegations of disproportionate assets, with Kumar accused of possessing over 1.52 crore rupees in wealth that cannot be accounted for by his legitimate income. The raids targeted multiple locations including Patna, Khagaria, and Jehanabad. The team, led by DSP-level officers, has seized documents related to a luxurious building, ten trucks, and several bank accounts, all reportedly registered under the name of Kumar’s wife. The investigation is ongoing to assess the value of the assets. The SVU has also requested documents from the operator of a private hospital located within Kumar’s residence. Sanjeev Kumar previously served as the station house officer (SHO) in several districts, including Khagaria. The SVU’s operation aims to curb corruption and has caused a stir within the police department.
