Priority is being given to infrastructure development under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai
After the approval of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, the Public Works Department issued the approval
Raipur, August 08, 2025/ The Public Works Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh has granted administrative approval of Rs 59 crore 55 lakh 27 thousand for the reconstruction of Koni-Mopka bypass in Bilaspur district. This approval has been given under the budget provisions of the financial year 2025-26.
The condition of this approximately 14-kilometer-long road was very poor for the past several years. Heavy pressure of dense urban traffic along with NTPC Sipat, sponge iron factories, coal washeries and other industrial areas passes through this route, due to which the road was severely damaged. Citizens and public representatives had been demanding its reconstruction for a long time.
The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, has given priority to this project in the budget. The Chief Minister has made it clear that infrastructure development, especially the strengthening and quality of roads, is among the top priorities of the state government. No laxity will be acceptable in such works related to public convenience.
After the approval of Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Shri Arun Sao, the department has issued a circular regarding financial approval from the ministerial level to the Chief Engineer. Along with this, instructions have been given to complete the construction work within the time limit and in accordance with quality standards.
Shri Sao said that no negligence will be tolerated in the quality of construction material, transparency of work process and monitoring system. He has directed the officers to ensure continuous monitoring of the entire project and take strict action while determining accountability if any error is found in the construction work at any level.
The reconstruction of this bypass will not only facilitate the movement of industrial areas, but also provide relief to the city residents from heavy traffic. This decision of the state government reflects the government’s sensitivity and sense of responsibility towards the long-awaited demand of the general public.
The Public Works Department will soon issue a work order and start the construction process. The government intends that this project be completed within high quality, transparency and the stipulated time limit, so that citizens can be provided with quick and permanent relief.
