Raipur, August 08, 2025/ The Prime Minister’s Suryaghar Yojana has illuminated many homes through solar energy. Mr. Shashank Dubey, a resident of Bilaspur district, has installed a complete solar power plant on the roof of his house. This solar energy powered plant not only illuminates his house, but his electricity bill has also become zero. Not only this, Mr. Dubey is now also supplying electricity to the government.
Mr. Dubey said that since he has installed solar panels on the roof of his house, his electricity bill has become completely zero. The electricity generated on the roof through solar panels is completely saving his monthly electricity expenses. He said that a solar panel of five kilowatt capacity is installed on his roof, due to which he is no longer worried about the monthly electricity bill, and at the same time, he is also supplying electricity as a producer. After installing solar panels, his electricity bill has completely ended.
Mr. Dubey said that it cost him about two lakh rupees to install a five kilowatt solar panel, in which he received a subsidy of ₹78,000 from the central government, and an additional subsidy of ₹30,000 is also going to be received soon from the state government.
He said that under this scheme, investment has to be made only once, after which electricity supply is available uninterrupted for 25 years. To avail the benefit of the scheme, consumers can register through the pmsuryaghar.gov.in portal or the PM Suryaghar app. From a long-term perspective, this scheme proves to be very economical, in which loan facility is also provided by banks at low interest rates.
Mr. Dubey also said that once the solar panel is installed, there is no regular maintenance cost on it, and the company installing the solar panel provides free servicing facility for five years. He said that this scheme is also very useful from the point of view of environmental protection. By using solar energy, they are becoming participants in the production of clean (green) energy, which is promoting renewable energy.
Mr. Dubey, while appealing to the citizens, said that they should adopt this scheme, use solar energy and become self-reliant in the field of electricity. Along with this, also contribute actively to environmental conservation.
Under the Prime Minister’s Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the state government is encouraging domestic electricity consumers in urban and rural areas to install rooftop solar plants on the roofs of their houses. This plant connects to the electricity grid through net metering, through which the consumer can send more electricity generated than his requirement to the grid. This not only makes the electricity bill of the consumer’s house zero, but they also get income in return for the extra electricity supplied to the grid.
Under the Prime Minister Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana, free electricity up to 300 units per month is being provided. This scheme will provide consumers with more income, minimum electricity bill and opportunities for new employment. Along with this, there will also be an increase in public awareness towards renewable energy sources.
