The problem of stray dogs is escalating in the rural areas of Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh. A recent incident in Mainpur village, near the end of Dhamtari district, highlights the severity of the issue. A 9-year-old school student, Anya Netam, was the victim of a vicious attack by a pack of stray dogs. The attack resulted in serious injuries, and she was immediately taken to the district hospital. Medical professionals had to administer 15 stitches to close her wounds. The event has caused widespread panic and concern in the village.
The incident occurred when Anya was playing after school. The stray dogs encircled her and launched their assault. The dogs bit her on the head, hands, and legs, inflicting severe injuries. The locals intervened, rescuing the girl. Initially, she was taken to a government hospital in Nagri for medical care. Her condition did not improve there, so she was then moved to the Dhamtari district hospital. Due to a lack of adequate treatment, the medical staff decided to transfer her to the Mekahara Hospital in Raipur. Doctors expressed concern over the extent of her injuries, noting the severity of the dog bites.
