A surprising revelation from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Ajinkya Naik details how Rohit Sharma intervened to prevent Yashasvi Jaiswal from leaving Mumbai and joining Goa in the domestic cricket circuit. Jaiswal had initially sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC), signaling his intention to switch teams. However, months later, he reversed his decision, choosing to remain with Mumbai.
Naik explained that Rohit Sharma urged Jaiswal to stay, highlighting the pride and honor associated with playing for Mumbai, a team with a remarkable history of 42 Ranji Trophy titles. Sharma reminded Jaiswal that Mumbai provided the foundation for his cricketing journey, enabling him to display his abilities and eventually represent India. The Mumbai cricket association, Naik said, also reminded Jaiswal that he started his cricketing journey on the maidans of Mumbai.
Following discussions with Rohit Sharma and other experienced players, Jaiswal withdrew his NOC request. The MCA subsequently approved this withdrawal. Jaiswal recently participated in a five-match Test series against England, where he scored 411 runs, averaging 41.10 and hitting two centuries.
