Tragedy struck in the Ashanti Region of Ghana on Wednesday when a Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crashed near Sikaman, claiming the lives of all eight occupants. The helicopter, Ghana Armed Forces Helicopter 29, was en route from Accra to Obuasi when it went down. The crash has resulted in the loss of prominent figures, including Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Defence, and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation. The Ghana Armed Forces has expressed its condolences to the bereaved families and the nation. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the crash.
