The Department of Science, Technology, and Technical Education convened a pivotal meeting in Patna on July 31st. The core agenda revolved around the seamless transition of new students into Bihar’s government engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes, along with ensuring their familiarization with the institutional framework.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Pratima, the Department Secretary, and attended by departmental officials and other concerned parties. A key discussion point was the provision of comprehensive support to new students, ensuring they face no hurdles regarding accommodation, dining, library access, and laboratory facilities. The aim was to guarantee that all necessary resources are readily available.
The Secretary issued specific directives to the officials, emphasizing the importance of informing students about every facet of their institutions, equipping them with all necessary information to prevent any issues. Furthermore, the officials were instructed to introduce the new students to the relevant digital platforms to facilitate access to assistance and lodging of complaints, thereby aiding the institutions in addressing any issues and resolving student concerns.
Dr. Pratima also instructed the Assistant Directors to rigorously monitor the institutions and hostels to prevent any instances of ragging against new students. She also ordered a comprehensive review of the CCTV cameras installed across the institutions and hostels to ensure they are operational and functioning correctly, to effectively track any ragging incidents.
