In anticipation of the upcoming “Adivasi Mahotsav 2025,” scheduled for August 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2025, to mark World Tribal Day, preparations are in high gear. A key initiative to promote the festival is the launch of an awareness chariot. This chariot is designed to carry information, highlight the importance of the event, and disseminate messages to the public. Rajiv Lochan Bakshi, the Special Secretary cum Director of the Information and Public Relations Department, inaugurated the chariot on Tuesday, emphasizing its role in bringing the festival’s significance to the forefront.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Adivasi Mahotsav 2025 is envisioned as a comprehensive and celebratory event. It transcends a mere cultural showcase; it’s a celebration of identity, resilience, and pride, blending traditional tribal culture with contemporary elements. The Mahotsav aims to connect people with tribal culture, identity, rights, and contributions. The event will showcase the rich cultural tapestry of tribal communities from across the state, the country, and the world, including their traditions, art forms, languages, attire, and cuisine, thus fostering a vibrant cultural exchange.
Key Features of the Awareness Chariot:
The chariot will tour prominent locations in Ranchi, including major intersections, markets, schools, and colleges. It will display tribal art and cultural messages through posters and flex banners, offering the public insights into the historical, social, and cultural aspects of the tribal community. The chariot will also provide details about the festival’s dates, venue, attractions, invited artists, and cultural performances. This initiative will extend beyond Ranchi, reaching other districts in the state to maximize participation and enhance the event’s stature. The inauguration was attended by various officials and staff members from the Information and Public Relations Department, including Deputy Director Anand.
