The Patna district administration has initiated action concerning the fraudulent issuance of a residence certificate under the name ‘Dog Babu’ in the Masaurhi area. The authorities have recommended the suspension of an officer and removed another from their position. Patna District Magistrate Dr. Thyagarajan SM has been tasked with investigating the case.
Initial findings indicate that an online application was submitted on July 15th using a Delhi woman’s Aadhaar card. The certificate was issued without proper verification of the submitted documents.
The investigation found the IT assistant and the revenue officer responsible for the irregularities. They were charged with producing false digital signatures and ignoring the rules. The individual whose identity was misused is also being investigated. The district administration responded swiftly upon learning of the matter and ordered a thorough probe.
Revenue Officer Murari Chauhan has been recommended for suspension by the District Magistrate. The IT assistant has been terminated from service. Furthermore, an FIR has been lodged against the unidentified applicant and both officers under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The police are currently investigating the case and taking strict action against those found culpable. The ‘Dog Babu’ residence certificate has been revoked. The Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society has directed all district officials to enforce stringent document verification protocols on the NIC’s Service Plus portal.
The implementation of AI on this portal is planned to prevent future fraudulent activities. This case exposes system vulnerabilities and underscores the Bihar government’s determination to combat digital fraud, promising that those involved will face consequences.
