Raipur, July 28, 2025/ On the third Monday of Sawan month, the echo of devotion and faith reached its peak in Baba Bhoramdev Temple, a pilgrimage site of ancient, religious, historical, and archaeological importance in Chhattisgarh, when Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai did a grand welcome and greeted thousands of Kanwariyas and Shiva devotees by showering flowers from a helicopter. *Glory of mythological tradition: Baba Bhoramdev complex soaked in devotion*
The tradition of Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva—the god of gods—in the Sawan month has been going on for centuries. This 11th-century Bhoramdev temple located in village Chaura, 18 kilometers away from Kawardha, is an extremely important site from a historical, religious, and archaeological point of view. In the month of Shravan, thousands of devotees from Kabirdham, Mungeli, Bemetara, Khairagarh, Rajnandgaon of Chhattisgarh, including Amarkantak of Madhya Pradesh, come to perform Jalabhishek in the ancient Jaleshwar Shivling of Baba Bhoramdev, Budha Mahadev and Dongariya. Devotees fill water from Maa Narmada and, barefoot and in saffron clothes, undertake a difficult journey of more than 150 kilometers and reach Bhoramdev, Jaleshwar Mahadev, and Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev temple with the slogans of “Bol Bam” and bhajans.
