A theft of 25 kg of lentils led to a public shaming incident in the Bariyarpur area of Munger district, Bihar. The incident occurred in Jhawabahiyar Panchayat, where children were caught stealing lentils from a residence. Villagers caught the children and, as punishment, tied their hands and paraded them through the village. The video of the incident has spread rapidly on social media. Police authorities have started an investigation. The children were questioned and, after confessing to the crime, were subjected to the public parade. The stolen lentils were sold in a shop.
