He stated his conviction that either all engagements should occur, or none at all. He suggested that if bilateral matches are off the table, then participation in events like the Asia Cup should also be reconsidered, while recognizing that the ultimate decision lies with the relevant authorities. This perspective was offered in light of the India Champions’ decision to withdraw from a match against the Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends. Azharuddin pointed out the difference between the WCL, which is not sanctioned by the ICC or BCCI, and the Asia Cup, which is governed by the ACC.
