*Signing of India-UK Free Trade Agreement: Door to New Opportunities for Chhattisgarh*
*Chief Minister Shri Sai said – India-UK FTA will open the global market for farmers, weavers and youth*
Raipur, July 26, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has called the Free Trade Agreement between India and the United Kingdom (UK) a new chapter in India’s development journey and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this agreement will not only expand India’s economic horizon, but will also provide a historic opportunity for states that are based on agriculture, handicrafts, small and cottage industries – like Chhattisgarh – to become part of global trade.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that India-UK FTA will give 99% of India’s export products duty-free access to Britain. This will directly benefit farmers, MSMEs, artisans, weavers and traditional products. The agreement is expected to open up new trade opportunities worth $23 billion.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this historic step has brought a new hope for agricultural and labor-dominant states like Chhattisgarh. He expressed confidence that this agreement will give strength to agriculture, support to industry and new employment opportunities to the youth of Chhattisgarh. He said that the state government is working on establishing special training, quality control, and export assistance centers to prepare local producers in accordance with global standards.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, while giving his heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for this achievement, said that this is a proof of his visionary leadership, economic reforms and his commitment to take ‘Vocal for Local’ to the global level.
