Raipur, July 24, 2025/ Whenever a festival arrives on the land of Chhattisgarh, it is not just a religious or cultural celebration, but it becomes a festival of lifestyle, tradition, taste and social harmony. In this series, on the occasion of the major agricultural festival Hareli Tihar, traditional delicious Chhattisgarhi dishes captivated all the guests at the residence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. Reviving the incomparable culinary tradition of the state, a special arrangement of dozens of traditional dishes like Thethri, Khurmi, Pidiya, Anarsa, Khaja, Kari Ladoo, Muthiya, Gulugula Bhajiya, Cheela-Fara, Bara and Chausela was made to welcome the visitors.
Served in bamboo soup, Pitari and Dona-Pattal, these dishes not only revealed the taste, but also the soul of folk life in their presentation. The guests, while savoring the hot dishes, openly appreciated the traditional cooking of the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai himself tasted these dishes and said that Hareli Tihar is not just a festival of farming, but it is an expression of our folk culture, our tradition and our intimacy. The hard work, simplicity and rich tradition of taste of our mothers and sisters are hidden in these traditional dishes, which is our true identity. This event not only highlights the importance of the Hareli festival, but also proves that the soul of Chhattisgarh is embedded in its soil, its taste and its traditions.
On this occasion, every corner of the premises was soaked in the fragrant aroma of Chhattisgarhi culture. Somewhere folk dances were seen on the beat of drums and manjiras, while the aroma of the dishes kept attracting people. The rural artists dressed in traditional costumes and the cultural presentation made the whole atmosphere vibrant and intimate. Senior officials, public representatives, artists and common people who participated in the program described this event as a memorable cultural experience.
