A customer at Rameshwaram Cafe within Bengaluru airport found a worm in their food on Thursday morning. The customer’s complaint was initially met with an attempt by staff to hide the issue. After the customer began recording, the staff apologized and provided a full refund of ₹300.
This incident adds to a growing list of food safety concerns. The Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru has been associated with prior incidents, including an IED explosion. In December 2024, a passenger at Jaipur International Airport found a cockroach in bread pakora. Other reports around the same time included a dead mouse in chocolate syrup at Jaipur Airport and an insect in a Burger King burger. Separately, in Mumbai, a Shiv Sena MLA, Sanjay Gaikwad, alleged poor food quality at the Akashwani canteen, claiming staff were unresponsive to his complaints. A video allegedly showed Gaikwad confronting a canteen worker. The FDA temporarily suspended the license of the canteen’s operator, Ajanta Caterers, and collected food samples. Gaikwad defended his actions, saying the food was unacceptable.
