*Beginning of a new era of fisheries in Chhattisgarh*
*First aqua park to be built in Hasdev Duban*
*Farmers’ income will increase from production processing to aqua tourism*
Raipur, July 21, 2025/ A new era is about to begin in the field of fish farming in Chhattisgarh. With the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and with the cooperation of the Central Government, the first aqua park is going to be established in Hasdev Bango Duban Reservoir in Korba district of the state. For this, more than Rs 37 crore 10 lakh has been sanctioned from the Central Government under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. This aqua park will be developed in hundreds of acres of submerged reservoir spread in Etma Nagar and Satarenga area. With the development of this aqua park, there will be a revolutionary change in the field of fish farming in the state. The income of the villagers of the area will increase from fish production to processing, sale, export and aqua tourism. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Central Government for approving the amount for the establishment of this park.
This aqua park, which is to be developed in the submerged area of Hasdev Bango Reservoir in Korba district, will have two types of facilities. Feed mill, fish processing plant, hatchery and recirculatory aqua culture system will be established in Etma Nagar. At the same time, a museum and other facilities will be developed in Satarenga to promote aqua tourism. In Etma Nagar, facilities will be developed from the production of fish to their processing and marketing, as well as exporting them to foreign countries. From the production of fish seeds in hatcheries to complementary nutritious food will also be made here in the feed mill. In the fish processing plant, the entire arrangement will be made here to clean the fish, remove the bones and make fillets and pack them with a high-quality packaging system and export them to foreign countries. Apart from this processing unit of Etma Nagar, an aqua museum will be built in Satarenga. Satarenga is already a major water body of Chhattisgarh from the tourism point of view. After the aqua museum is built, various types of fish will be kept here for the information of tourists. Along with this, angling desks, cafeterias, floating houses and water sports facilities including motor boats will also be developed in Satarenga, which will increase tourism in the area. Tourism will increase employment opportunities at the local level and the improvement in the standard of living of the local villagers will increase due to the increase in their income.
*Chief Minister Shri Sai: Aqua park will give a new direction to the fish business in the state*
On receiving the approval for this aqua park, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, while congratulating the fish farmers of the state, said that this aqua park will not only bring new advanced techniques of fish farming to the people, but also the processing-packaging unit will give a new direction to the fish business of Chhattisgarh. He said that there is a lot of demand for Tilapia fish of Chhattisgarh in foreign countries and with the production of this fish in this aqua park, the doors of trade will now open beyond seven seas for the fish farmers of Chhattisgarh. He termed the establishment of Aqua Park as a decision to make the state self-reliant in the field of fish farming.
