Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the Uttarakhand Investment Utsav – 2025 in Rudrapur, where the Pushkar Singh Dhami government marked the realization of Rs 1 lakh crore in investments following the December 2023 Global Investors Summit. Shah lauded the state’s achievements and pledged full support from the Central Government. During his address, Shah referenced his previous directive to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to ensure the implementation of the summit’s MoUs. He expressed his delight at the successful grounding of Rs 1 lakh crore in investments, which has created 81,000 new jobs and the prospect of over 250,000 more through related industries. Shah also pointed out the growth of industries in Uttarakhand’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, crediting the state government’s balance of development and environmental protection. He mentioned the creation of new states by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government and the ‘double-engine’ government in Uttarakhand since 2014. Shah highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contributions to national progress, including economic advancements and poverty alleviation. He emphasized that Uttarakhand’s development is crucial for achieving a Developed India by 2047. Shah acknowledged the investment-friendly environment created by the state government and projected growth in sectors like Ayurveda, Yoga, naturopathy, and organic farming. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed Amit Shah and celebrated the tangible outcomes of the Global Investment Summit. Dhami emphasized the role of Uttarakhand’s potential, entrepreneurial spirit, and public participation in driving inclusive development. He noted the successful realization of over Rs 1 lakh crore in investment proposals. Dhami outlined the state government’s measures to support industrial development, including policy implementation, the establishment of a venture fund, and infrastructure development such as parks and logistics centers. Uttarakhand has been recognized for its Ease of Doing Business and Startup initiatives, with over 260 online business services available.
