To bolster medical education and ease access for aspiring doctors, the Chhattisgarh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and guidance from Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, has introduced new regulations for medical graduate programs. These changes, effective for the 2025 admission year, aim to improve the counseling process for MBBS, BDS, and BPT courses. Key modifications include prioritizing Chhattisgarh-domiciled students in the private medical college quotas for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC), and reducing the mandatory bond service period to a minimum of one year. The entire counseling procedure will be conducted online, ensuring transparency. Furthermore, the income certificate requirements for the OBC category have been simplified. Unfilled seats in the EWS category will now be offered to general category candidates. Students can register in each counseling round. The Medical Education Department has confirmed that the revised counseling process will start from July 30, 2025. These measures are designed to create more opportunities for medical students and streamline the admission process.
