Historic increase in paddy procurement: A major decision by the double engine government dedicated to the farmers – Chief Minister Shri Sai
Raipur, July 18, 2025/ Today is a day of great joy and pride for the farmers of the state. The Central Government has given its historic approval to increase the estimate of paddy procurement in Chhattisgarh for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25 from 70 lakh metric tonnes to 78 lakh metric tonnes. This decision will give a new identity to the hard work of lakhs of annadatas of the state and give a new direction to their economic prosperity.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Food and Public Distribution Shri Prahlad Joshi ji for this unprecedented decision. He said that this decision is a living proof of the “double engine” commitment of the central and state governments, in which the welfare of farmers is the top priority.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while posting on social media ‘X’, said that the approval of the central government to buy an additional 8 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is a step towards recognizing the hard work of our farmers. This will not only increase their income, but will also strengthen the agricultural economy of Chhattisgarh.
He said that the state government is continuously working in the interest of the farmers and is ensuring every possible facility for them in coordination with the central government. A concrete strategy is being made for better prices, timely payment and smooth procurement process for the paddy producing farmers of the state. This increase in the paddy procurement limit is a confidence-building measure for the farmers of the state. This is an indication of the Center’s faith in their hard work and production capacity.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government has made full preparations to keep the procurement process transparent and organized. The government is continuously implementing new schemes and measures for the prosperity of the annadatas of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that bringing happiness and respect to the lives of farmers is the priority of our government. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the annadatas of Chhattisgarh will move towards new heights.
