In a significant operation, security forces neutralized six prominent Naxal leaders in a fierce encounter in the Abujhmar forests of Chhattisgarh, near the Narayanpur-Maharashtra border. The encounter took place during a search operation aimed at curbing Naxal activities. Following the clash, a thorough search of the area yielded an array of weapons, including AK-47 rifles and SLRs, along with a substantial cache of explosives and essential supplies. The search operation was initiated based on intelligence inputs regarding increased Maoist presence in the Abujhmar region. The gunfight, which began on Saturday afternoon, lasted for several hours, resulting in the deaths of six Naxals. The area has been cordoned off, and the search for additional Naxals, potentially injured and hiding, is still underway. Authorities are working to identify the deceased, some of whom are believed to be high-profile criminals with existing charges.
