The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its weather forecast for the coming week, predicting significant rainfall across numerous parts of the country. The forecast includes warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several states and union territories.
Rain is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East-West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan between July 16 and 21. Very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Jammu and Kashmir and East Rajasthan on July 16, Uttarakhand on July 17, 20 and 21, and East Uttar Pradesh on July 16-17.
Monsoon activity is expected to be intense in East and Central India, with heavy rainfall likely in isolated areas of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal. Western Madhya Pradesh may experience very heavy rainfall on July 18, while East Madhya Pradesh can expect it on July 16-17.
West India is under a warning for torrential rains in the Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra valley areas on July 20 and 21. Parts of Gujarat may also receive heavy rainfall on July 16.
Northeast India is predicted to experience light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Heavy rainfall may affect parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Tripura between July 19 and 21.
Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall until July 21. Strong winds, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph, are also likely in this region. Additionally, hot and humid conditions are expected to prevail over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema on July 16.
