In Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai held a courtesy meeting with Manoj Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Land Resources, Government of India. The meeting, conducted at the Chief Minister’s office within the Vidhan Sabha complex, focused on key areas such as reinforcing the land record system, employing technological advancements in land surveys, and expediting the settlement of unresolved cases in revenue courts. Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma was also present during the discussion.
Chief Minister Sai affirmed the state government’s dedication to updating land revenue documents and implementing essential improvements. He pointed out that well-organized revenue records would lead to quicker and more effective resolutions in revenue courts. He also assured that the state government would collaborate with the central government on all initiatives aimed at enhancing land records, thereby making the system more efficient and beneficial for citizens.
Additionally, the Chief Minister acknowledged the central government’s initiatives, powered by technology, to improve transparency, speed, and accuracy in land revenue records, which will directly benefit farmers and the public. He instructed revenue department officials to take the required steps promptly.
Secretary Manoj Joshi highlighted the comparatively better condition of land records in Chhattisgarh, noting the ongoing improvements through the active support of the state government. He explained that modern technologies are now used for land surveying, making the process faster, more accurate, and more dependable than the previous traditional methods.
Joshi also mentioned the central government’s efforts to improve the land record maintenance system, including financial and technical support for states. Digital surveys will effectively address the technical problems that often arise during the updating of maps during land transactions, providing citizens with updated and accurate maps to minimize discrepancies and better plan urban expansion.
