As the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra proceeds, Nuh district in Haryana is under tight security, with measures resembling a curfew. Schools are closed, and restrictions are in place to prevent any disturbances. Carrying weapons has been forbidden, with the exception of the Sikh community’s kirpan. The use of any sound-amplifying equipment broadcasting potentially offensive religious content is also prohibited. The government has deployed a significant police presence and has declared a holiday for schools. This follows the violent clashes that occurred in Nuh during the 2023 Brij Mandal Yatra, which led to loss of life and widespread unrest, prompting the current heightened security measures.
