Construction of the new assembly building in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is in its final stages. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao confirmed on July 10th that the project would be completed by September, with an inauguration planned for November 1st. The inauguration is likely to be attended by either Prime Minister Narendra Modi or President Droupadi Murmu. The state is preparing for the 25th anniversary of its formation in 2025. Deputy CM Arun Sao personally tested an MLA seat in the assembly for his experience. The interior work is going on rapidly in the building, with the interior of Block A and Block C nearly completed. The main auditorium and Block B are being prioritized. The new building is designed to reflect the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. The assembly will have a seating capacity of 200 members, an auditorium for 500 spectators, parking for 700 cars, and chambers for 24 ministers. The monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly, scheduled from July 14th to July 18th, 2025, will be held in the old assembly. The winter session will mark the beginning of proceedings in the new assembly building.
