An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale hit Haryana’s Jhajjar district on Thursday morning. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) provided the details. Tremors were experienced across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and surrounding areas. The earthquake’s epicenter was in Jhajjar, striking at 9:04 am at a depth of 10 km, as per the NCS. The details were shared on X. On February 17, a 4.0 magnitude quake occurred in Delhi-NCR at a depth of 5 km, resulting in residents fleeing their homes. Delhi falls under Seismic Zone IV, a ‘High Damage Risk Zone,’ as classified by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, suggesting a high likelihood of powerful earthquakes.
