A deeply disturbing incident has come to light in Korba, Chhattisgarh, where a woman’s partially burned remains were transported in a garbage truck to the hospital for a post-mortem examination. This incident has ignited a wave of criticism and calls for accountability.
The unfortunate event unfolded within the jurisdiction of the Bakimongra police station. The woman, identified as Geeta Shri Vishwas, was found dead under circumstances that are currently under investigation. While the police followed standard protocols at the scene, the lack of a proper vehicle for transporting the body was a major oversight.
Despite attempts to obtain a शव वाहन or an ambulance from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), the police were unable to secure one. As a result, the body was transported in a municipal garbage truck. This has led to widespread condemnation, with many questioning the sensitivity and respect afforded to the deceased and the effectiveness of local resources.
