Jairam Mahto, the MLA of Dumri, has unveiled a plan to provide financial assistance to women in his constituency. He intends to offer a monthly pension of ₹1,000 to women who have lost the primary earner in their families and are facing economic difficulties. Mahto plans to initiate this project soon. In an interview, he mentioned his desire to help women who are in such circumstances. He stated, “We are considering assessing such women and providing them with a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 from my salary.” He added that this would be a landmark decision for an MLA to provide pensions to women from their own salary. He is carefully considering the details of this initiative.
On July 8, the MLA organized a talent recognition event, using 75% of his three-month salary. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar felicitated the top-performing students of the Matric and Intermediate examinations from the Dumri assembly constituency. The top students were presented with laptops and tablets, and other students were awarded medals.
