The monsoon season is in full swing, bringing widespread rainfall across much of India. The Meteorological Department has issued weather alerts for the coming days, warning of heavy downpours, strong winds, and lightning strikes. Delhi witnessed light to moderate rain in different parts of the city on Friday.
According to the weather forecast, the capital city will remain overcast on Saturday, with a chance of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Similar weather patterns are expected on Sunday. Today’s maximum temperature is predicted to be 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature could be 27 degrees Celsius.
Uttar Pradesh is expected to see thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in several districts today, with a warning issued for July 6. Western UP is likely to experience thundershowers today, with the possibility of lightning and heavy rain. Eastern Uttar Pradesh faces the prospect of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in various locations. The 6th of July will bring thundershowers to most of western Uttar Pradesh, with potential lightning strikes. Most of eastern UP is also slated to get rain.
Bihar and Jharkhand are also anticipating wet weather. The weather department has forecast thunderstorms and lightning with rainfall in all 19 districts of South Bihar, including Patna, Gaya, and Jehanabad. Heavy rainfall is expected in the northern parts of Jharkhand today, along with thunderstorms and strong winds of 30 to 40 kmph.
From today until July 10, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh could see heavy rain in isolated locations. Rajasthan is also likely to face heavy rainfall in several areas today. From today to July 9, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience rain. On July 6 and 7, the Mandi, Kangra, and Sirmaur districts of Himachal Pradesh are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Southern Konkan (South Coastal Maharashtra) and Goa might see extremely heavy rainfall in isolated places today, tomorrow, and the next day. Moreover, heavy to very heavy rain is anticipated in Konkan and Goa, the Ghat regions of central Maharashtra, and various parts of Gujarat in the next seven days.
