Three police officers, including the Station House Officer of Kusmi police station in Balrampur, Chhattisgarh, have been suspended following an incident involving the transport of an alleged accused from West Bengal. The Jharkhand Police apprehended the vehicle, an Innova, in Ranchi, acting on information about the possible abduction of an influential individual. Balrampur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vaibhav Banker ordered the suspension of SHO Lalit Yadav and constables Vishnu Kant Mishra and Pranjul Kashyap.
It was revealed that SHO Lalit Yadav had sent the two constables to West Bengal without obtaining prior approval from senior officials or informing them. The case originated from a fraud complaint, with the complainant providing the Innova vehicle. The constables reached Bardhaman, West Bengal three days earlier.
The Jharkhand Police intervened after receiving information about the Innova. The matter reached the Jharkhand DGP, who informed his Chhattisgarh counterpart. The Chhattisgarh DGP contacted the Surguja IG. After discussions with the Balrampur SP, the Jharkhand Police released the officers. The SP took action against the officers for their unauthorized actions.
