During the Hera Panchami celebrations, the Rath Yatra in Seraikela saw a dramatic turn as Goddess Lakshmi expressed her displeasure by damaging the chariot of Lord Jagannath at the Gundicha Temple. The goddess was brought to the temple in a palanquin from the Srimandir. She implored Lord Jagannath to return with her, but upon his refusal, she took her anger out on his chariot. Consequently, she then returned to the Srimandir.
A Bhajan Sandhya, featuring Odia artists, was held at the Kali Temple Community Hall in Kharsawan to mark Hera Panchami. The musical event, organized by a team from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, led by Laxmidhar Barik, presented bhajans dedicated to Lord Jagannath. The singers from Odisha, including Laxmidhar Barik, Pratap Chandra Mohapatra, Sita Rani, Seema Kumari, and Sarat Kumar, delivered a performance of Odia bhajans. Many other devotional bhajans were also performed.
