Maruti Suzuki will launch a hybrid version of the Fronx. This presents a compelling option for those considering the CNG variants of the Baleno, Fronx, or Swift. Hyundai is preparing to introduce a compact crossover hybrid model, known as the Bayon. It will be equipped with a new 1.2-liter Kappa engine, the foundation for Hyundai’s hybrid offerings in India. This engine will fit between the existing 1.0-liter engine and the 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine.
Maruti Suzuki is also planning a 5-seater SUV, tentatively called the Escudo. It will sit between the Vitara Brezza and Grand Vitara, competing with the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. The Escudo aims to provide a more premium SUV experience than the Vitara Brezza at a more accessible price point than the Grand Vitara, potentially featuring the existing 1.5cc, four-cylinder engine with hybrid technology.
Renault India is restructuring its product line. Alongside the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger, the brand plans to introduce a new Duster and an EV hatchback. The new Kwid EV, spotted in testing, is similar to the Dacia Spring EV available internationally.
