The southwest monsoon has enveloped almost the entire country, bringing widespread showers. Many states are witnessing heavy rainfall. The last days of June saw good rainfall in Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a return of rain in the capital city and its neighboring areas.
The IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Delhi until July 7. Significant rainfall is expected in eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and western Uttar Pradesh. Some areas could experience extremely heavy downpours.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted for Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Odisha. The IMD anticipates intense rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh for six to seven days. Sikkim, Bihar, and West Bengal are also likely to receive heavy showers. The monsoon will be active across northwest, east, and central India during this period.
Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat are also included in the rainfall forecast. Heavy rain is expected in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh until July 7. Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh will likely experience heavy rainfall between July 5-7. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Uttar Pradesh until July 5, while Himachal Pradesh can expect heavy rain today and from July 5-7. Expect intense rainfall in several regions of northwest India for the next week.
Rain is also predicted for southern India. Telangana is expected to receive rainfall today, Kerala from today until July 5, and Karnataka from today until July 7. Strong winds (40-50 kmph) are expected in the southern peninsular India for the next seven days. Coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may experience thunderstorms with light to moderate rainfall.
