In the wake of the devastating explosion at the Sigachi Pharma factory in Sangareddy, Telangana, which claimed 34 lives, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has called for immediate action. He proposed the formation of a high-level committee to conduct thorough inspections of similar industrial facilities, particularly in Hyderabad. Reddy noted the Prime Minister’s Office’s immediate response, coordinating with the Home Ministry and deploying the NDRF to provide aid. The goal is to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards to prevent future tragedies. Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the incident, stressing the need to determine accountability, including the potential negligence of factory management and regulatory authorities. The explosion, which occurred on Monday in the Pasamailaram Phase 1 area, also resulted in injuries to several workers. BRS leader K Kavitha visited the injured in a Patancheru hospital and attributed the event to governmental negligence, further calling for significant financial compensation for the affected families.
