Jharkhand is facing widespread disruption due to relentless heavy rainfall. The downpour has led to the collapse of bridges and culverts in various districts, while rivers and streams are at dangerous levels. Numerous residential areas are inundated, particularly in Ranchi. Rainfall from June 1st to 30th exceeded the normal average by 88%, with Ranchi receiving the highest amount, 213% above average. The monsoon has brought heavy rains to all but five of the state’s 24 districts. The weather forecast predicts continued heavy rainfall across the state until July 6th.
