New developments indicate that families impacted by the Ahmedabad Air India plane crash are set to initiate legal proceedings against Boeing and Air India. A joint legal team, including Keystone Law from the UK and Wisner Law Firm from the US, is gearing up to file lawsuits in both US and UK jurisdictions. The legal representatives are collaborating closely with the families of the victims to uphold their rights under existing international legal frameworks. These legal actions are not related to any financial or other support provided by Tata Sons. According to James Healy-Pratt, a partner at Keystone Law, they have been in communication with the affected families to gather information and evaluate the evidence. They are considering a lawsuit against Boeing in the United States and a separate case against Air India in the High Court in London. The crash of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which was bound for London, resulted in 241 fatalities. The plane crashed moments after takeoff from Ahmedabad, hitting a medical college campus. The casualties included 181 Indian nationals and 52 British citizens. The Tata Group, the parent company of Air India, previously announced compensation, followed by additional financial aid. The legal team is assessing early settlement proposals offered by Air India’s insurer, Tata AIG. Following a thorough investigation, the lawsuits are expected to be filed. Some families are planning to pursue legal action under English law in London, while others will file cases in a US federal court in Virginia, potentially targeting Boeing. The lawsuits may seek full, unlimited compensation.
