A mobile van camp offering passport services began in Lakhisarai, Bihar, on Tuesday. The Regional Passport Office Patna is organizing the camp from July 1 to July 3, 2025. The opening of the camp was graced by Swadha Rizvi, the Regional Passport Officer from Patna, and Mithilesh Mishra, the District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.
The camp is a response to the high volume of applicants at Post Office Passport Seva Kendras and the lack of a similar center in Lakhisarai district, aiming to make passport services accessible to local residents.
Since May 12, 2025, the Indian government has been issuing chip-enabled passports containing applicant details. This camp in Lakhisarai is the tenth in a series since April 2024, following camps in Siwan, Gopalganj, Purnia, and Bagaha.
New and re-issue passport applications are being accepted at the camp. Each day, 55 appointment slots are available. For online registration and more details, visit www.passportindia.gov.in. Applicants must complete the online application, pay the required fee, and schedule an appointment for the mobile passport service. They need to attend the camp at the scheduled time and location with original documents, photocopies, and be available for photo capture, fingerprinting, and verification of their application and original certificates.
Applications related to PCC, those pending due to issues with certificates, and those without a pre-booked online appointment will not be accepted at this camp. Applicants are advised to check the website for document requirements.
The Regional Passport Office Patna is dedicated to providing these services. In 2024-25, the Bihar Police, with support from the Regional Passport Office, Patna, was recognized for their outstanding performance in passport application verification.
