A woman has accused a man of love jihad, fraud, assault, and forced religious conversion in a complaint filed at a Patna women’s police station. The woman alleges the man, a PG student, concealed his Muslim identity and presented himself as Hindu to initiate a relationship. After establishing a relationship over three years, he started pressuring her to convert to Islam.
The woman stated that she met the accused, Seraj, who used the alias ‘Sonu,’ during treatment. He pretended to be Hindu and performed rituals to gain her trust. After promising marriage, he revealed his real identity and subjected her to physical and emotional abuse. She claims he forced her to eat beef and learn Islamic prayers. When she refused to convert, the accused married another woman. The woman reports being beaten by the man’s family after learning about the marriage. An FIR was registered on June 19 after initial delays, but the woman claims it lacks provisions related to love jihad. Police are investigating the matter.
