Chhattisgarh’s government has extended the deadline for the distribution of three months’ worth of ration to July 7th. This decision comes as a relief to consumers and addresses issues related to the ongoing ration distribution process.
Ration distribution for June, July, and August is being carried out simultaneously. The combined distribution has led to overcrowding at ration shops, causing inconvenience to both consumers and shopkeepers. Consumers have faced time constraints, and shopkeepers have struggled to manage the increased demand within a limited timeframe. There were requests from consumers to extend the deadline for ration distribution to facilitate timely access for all beneficiaries.
Approximately 75-80% of the ration had been distributed by June 30th, leaving a significant number of beneficiaries still waiting. The extended deadline aims to resolve these challenges. The government’s decision is expected to ensure that the remaining beneficiaries receive their rations and that no one is left without their entitled provisions.
