*‘Charan Paduka Yojana’ becomes a symbol of self-respect and security*
Raipur, June 29, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today re-launched the ‘Charan Paduka Yojana’ by presenting Charan Paduka to female tendu leaf collectors in Jamgaon, Durg district. More than 12 lakh 40 thousand tendu leaf collectors of the state will now get direct benefit of another guarantee of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our government is continuously striving to empower and secure the standard of living of forest dwellers and tendu leaf collector brothers and sisters. Charan Paduka Yojana is a symbol of our gratitude towards those hardworking hands who work in collecting forest produce in difficult circumstances.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that tendu leaf collector families have an invaluable contribution in the state’s economy, forest produce-based employment and local prosperity. It is their hard work that has kept the tradition of forest produce of Chhattisgarh alive and lakhs of families get livelihood support. ‘Charan Paduka Yojana’ was an important promise of our resolution letter “Modi’s Guarantee”, which our government has fulfilled with full commitment. This scheme is not just about distributing Charan Paduka, but it is a respect for the labor and self-respect of tendu leaf collectors.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that through this scheme, we are saluting the hard work of the tendu leaf collectors, which reaches the prosperity of the state through the paths of the forests. The government is a partner in their every happiness and sorrow and it is our duty to ensure dignity and security in their lives.
