The Uttarakhand government, under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, is set to introduce a comprehensive women’s policy, marking a significant step in its governance. This policy, which is expected to be tabled in the cabinet soon, will provide a detailed roadmap for the economic and social upliftment of women in the state. Previously, the Dhami administration has implemented key measures, such as reserving 30% of government jobs for women and introducing women’s representation in cooperative societies, with the goal of empowering women in leadership roles. To further support women’s financial independence, the government has initiated schemes like Mahila Saarthi Yojana, Ekal Mahila Swarozgar Yojana, and Lakhpati Didi, all of which have been effectively implemented.
