Today marked a significant day for the devotees of Lord Jagannath in Raipur. The city witnessed the commencement of a grand Rath Yatra featuring Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra, originating from the Shri Jagannath Temple in Gayatri Nagar. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Governor Ramen Deka graced the occasion with their presence, offering prayers and extending wishes for the prosperity of the state’s residents.
Minister Tank Ram Verma and MP Brijmohan Agrawal joined the Chief Minister and Governor in this religious celebration. A large congregation of devotees gathered at the temple to witness the procession and receive blessings.
Following the prayers, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai initiated the Rath Yatra by performing the traditional ritual of sweeping the chariot’s path with a ‘golden broom,’ symbolizing devotion and service to Lord Jagannath. The magnificent spectacle of the Rath Yatra, combined with the devotion of the attendees, filled the surroundings with a sense of spirituality.
