Bihar is witnessing a surge in developmental activities as the state prepares for the upcoming assembly elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made multiple visits to the state since February, unveiling projects worth over ₹54,400 crore across several programs. Simultaneously, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has presided over numerous events involving the inauguration, laying of foundation stones, or unveiling of projects worth crores of rupees.
The government is focusing on the transformation of Patna with a major emphasis on road infrastructure. A key project is the JP Ganga Path, connecting Kangan Ghat to Didarganj, with a cost of ₹3,831 crore. This is part of the broader effort to enhance the city’s infrastructure.
Key projects in Patna:
* The Ashokraj Path flyover, from Kargil Chowk to Science College, is a double-decker structure built at a cost of ₹422 crore.
* The Mithapur-Mahuli Elevated Road is a ₹1,105 crore project spanning 8.7 km.
* A Multi-model hub and an underground sub-way near GPO Golambar costing ₹66.81 crore and ₹84.83 crore, respectively.
* The New Terminal at JP International Airport, costing ₹1,200 crore.
* Drainage, water supply schemes and building structures worth ₹7,166 crore.
* Five STP plants under the Namami Gange project.
* Part of the new 1,117-bed building of PMC.
* The New building of Tibbi College.
* Six-lane bridge-cum-road over the Ganga River, from Kachchi Dargah to Vidupur, costing ₹4,988 crore.
The double-engine government has initiated schemes worth approximately ₹85,000 crore between March and June. Several projects have already been completed, while others are in various stages of development. These initiatives primarily focus on improving roads and bridges. Notable contributions include the ₹48,500 crore announced by the Prime Minister in Bikramganj on May 30th and ₹5,900 crore in Siwan on June 20th.

* ₹1,200 crore transferred by the CM to PM (Rural) Awas Yojana beneficiaries.
* Repair of 6,938 roads spanning 12,105 km, costing ₹8,716 crore.
* Foundation stone laying of 48 projects worth over ₹200 crore in Begusarai.
* Foundation stone laying for an agricultural engineering college costing ₹144.72 crore in Arrah.
* Foundation stone laying for 1327 various schemes worth ₹1002 crore under the Mukhyamantri Samagra Shahri Vikas Yojana.
* A ₹342 crore scheme to restore the flow of the Ganga River near Lakhanpura.
* Release of ₹271 crore under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana and social security pension.
