Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema announced the government’s firm stance against drug trafficking, stating that anyone involved would face consequences. This statement came after the Punjab Vigilance Department took Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia into custody and conducted searches at his residence.
Cheema underscored the AAP government’s campaign, ‘Yudh Nashe Ke Viruddh,’ to eliminate drugs, blaming previous governments for the proliferation of the drug problem. He affirmed that the law would apply to all, irrespective of their involvement. The Minister insisted that the government is committed to wiping out drugs from the state.
Ganieve Kaur Majithia, wife of Bikram Singh Majithia, recounted that a group of people entered their home without proper documentation and began searching their belongings. She expressed her gratitude to SAD supporters.
