In a recent move, the Chhattisgarh government’s Commercial Tax Department has executed a large-scale transfer of 28 commercial tax officers. The transfers are part of an effort to improve departmental processes, boost administrative competence, and refine overall operational efficiency. The directives have been implemented with immediate effect.
Through two separate directives, the department has designated new roles for officers holding positions of Assistant Commissioners and Joint Commissioners. Several officers have been assigned as Joint Commissioners (State Tax), while others are now serving in key units, including the State Tax Officer (BIU) and the Audit branch. This administrative change is viewed as a key initiative by the government to encourage a more dynamic approach and instill greater transparency in its operations.
