During a virtual event, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the temporary campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the i-hub in Nava Raipur. He emphasized that these developments marked a significant step towards modernizing the criminal justice system in Chhattisgarh. The initiative includes the construction of a permanent NFSU campus and a central forensic science lab with an investment of ₹268 crore. The temporary campus will offer courses in forensic science, cyber security, and digital forensics from the academic year 2025-26, with an initial intake of 180 students. Shah highlighted the benefits of these institutions for crime investigation in Chhattisgarh and across central India, with new forensic technologies becoming readily available. He also launched the i-hub, which will support young entrepreneurs by providing technical assistance, funding, and professional services. Shah encouraged youth to start startups and contribute to the state’s industrial growth. The Home Minister praised the new government’s efforts, noting that MoUs for investments worth ₹5 lakh crore had been signed. He commended Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Home Minister Vijay Sharma for their decisive action against Naxalism, stating that security forces are actively engaging with Naxals even during the monsoon. He urged Naxals to surrender and join the path of development. Furthermore, Shah mentioned that the permanent NFSU campus, set to be completed in three years, will offer ample career opportunities. He discussed the implementation of the three new criminal laws, which aim to ensure justice and establish a modern, science-based criminal justice system. Forensic investigations are now mandatory for offenses with a sentence of over seven years. Shah also pointed out that NFSU campuses are being established across India, with the forensic technology market expected to boom globally. He underscored the importance of forensic technology in making India self-reliant.
